  1. Advanced Local Anesthetic Techniques

    For some patients, getting a tooth or section of teeth numb can be extremely difficult. Dental anesthesiologists are sometimes called upon to use advanced techniques to help establish profound numbness in these difficult situations.

  2. Anxiolytic Sedation.

    Patients who are only mildly anxious frequently benefit from the use of anxiolytic sedative techniques to help cope with dental stresses.

  3. Moderate (Conscious) Sedation.

    Those patients that are moderately anxious, but still desire to remain awake for the dental care choose moderate sedation techniques to help insulate themselves from dental stress.

  4. Deep Sedation/General Anesthesia.

    When large amounts of invasive dental care, pre-cooperative age or special needs prevent patients from sitting comfortably for care, deep sedation and/or general anesthesia is used to help cope with these stresses. This, in turn, allows the patient to sleep soundly throughout the entire procedure, void of all sounds, odors or pain.

  • What do I have to do to have a dentist anesthesiologist come in to my dental office?


  • Simply contact Arizona Dental Anesthesia to schedule a meeting in your office to further discuss the details of patient care. If needed, we will also be happy to provide you and your staff with an office-based anesthesia orientation prior to initiating patient care.


  • How do I schedule a procedure?


  • When a patient is identified who may require office-based anesthesia services, your office staff should give us a call. During our correspondence, we will obtain some additional information on about the patient and planned procedure. Most of the time this can be done by telephone, however, in some cases it may be necessary to schedule the consultation in your office, so that the anesthesiologist can better assess the physical status and airway for the patient. During the consultation; also a review of the patient’s medical history will be conducted by the anesthesiologist.
